Why I Walk: Frank Gulli
Frank walks to honor a promise. “I had a lover whose brother passed away from AIDS. When he passed, my lover promised him that he would walk to celebrate his memory. But my lover wasn’t able to fulfill that duty due to his physical limitations, so I decided to take it upon myself and honor that promise.”
Frank—who was diagnosed in 1985—is walking with HIVE this year because of the new outlook on life the program has provided him. “Many of us who are aging have survived, we are survivors, we are fighters, we are human beings who are in the position to celebrate our longevity.”
